Bak-Wira FW
BIOLOGICAL WASTE TREATMENT PRODUCT
FOR FOOD MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES
DESCRIPTION & USE
Bak-Wira FW is a highly specialised combination of bacterial cultures specifically selected and adapted to degrade a wide range of organic waste. This product has been used successfully in palm oil refineries, soy bean refineries, dairy products, breweries, chemical plants, food and beverages processing plants and etc. It is proven to be effective to overcome a variety of problems such as periods of high influent loading, system start-up after mill shutdown, and unfavourable temperature conditions. This product is used to achieve consistent effluents with widely ranging influent organic levels, improve settleability of biological solids, reduces surcharges, correct low or inconsistent MLVSS numbers, control foam production from partially degraded organics and alter biomass dynamics gradually shifting towards a superior population
Bak-Wira FW is a live synergistic blend of all natural, Class 1 bacteria specifically chosen for their accelerated ability to degrade high level of fats, oil and grease, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, BTEX, TPH, sulphur containing compounds, solvents and other organic compounds into carbon dioxide and water. This product can also prevent hydrogen sulphite production.
Bak-Wira FW contains facultative anaerobes which degrade with or without oxygen. Composed of several strains of bacteria which have been cultured for compatibility to feed on the same media and reproduce themselves to grow into adult form. These bacteria feed and reproduce while attacking the material in the water that causes pollution. Able to degrade in cold or hot conditions.
Bak-Wira FW are live micro-organism which must be seeded on a regular
basis to maintain a high population of organisms and to prevent total kill
when an upset in the treatment occurs.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATION
Form: Free flowing, tan coloured powder
Odour: Yeast like
Bulk density: 0.5 – 0.7 g/ml.
DIRECTIONS OF USE
Bacteria and enzymes in Bak-Wira FW perform well within a pH range of 5.5 to 8.5 with the optimum near pH 7.0. Toxic chemicals in waste water also adversely affect the survival of bacteria colonies. Temperature of the system should also be not more than 50 deg. C. Before application of Bak-Wira FW, the system should be controlled such that the correct balance of dissolved oxygen, nutrients, pH and temperature are present.
The dosage of Bak-Wira FW depends on the organic
loading of the waste water. For BOD loading of 1000 PPM and below, the
following table will provide an indication of dosages, the dosages are
based on PPM.
| Days from Startup | Flowrate
< 1000 M3/Day |
Flowrate
> 1000 M3/Day |
| 1st & 2nd day | 3 – 5 | 5 – 8 |
| 3rd & 4th day | 2 – 4 | 4 – 6 |
| 5th – 15th day | 1 – 3 | 2 – 4 |
| 16th – 30th day | 0.7 – 2 | 1 – 3 |
| Daily | 0.3 – 0.7 | 0.5 – 1 |
The preferred method of addition is to make a slurry
of
Bak-Wira FW with the waste water and aerate a few hours before
use.
Bak-Wira FW could also be added direct into the biological
tank/pond.
