DESCRIPTION & USE
BakWira OR is a highly specialised combination of bacterial
cultures, enzymes and biodegradable surfactants specifically and carefully
selected to handle intolerable nuisance odor such as H2S (rotten egg smell)
, ammonia, etc. in open tanks, ponds, lagoons and ditches. These nuisance
odor not only give rise to complaints, but also causes corrosion damages,
health hazards and greatly reducing the treatment plant efficiency.
Malodorous compounds are normally produced as an intermediate
by-product of waste decomposition by microbes. These malodorous compounds
cannot be utilised by the existing microbes. Furthermore, they are very
toxic to them. Low level of H2S can suppress bacteria motility, growth
and reproduction resulting unhealthy biomass. High level of H2S can even
reduce biological activity to zero.
BakWira OR is able to utilise these toxic compounds in
their metabolic process. H2S molecules can be oxidised by BakWira OR to
form elemental sulphur which is then stored by the bacteria in their cell
structures. BakWira OR can also initiate and promote ammonia removal through
active nitrification. The removal of toxic or odorous substances will change
the existing biomass dynamics gradually shifting towards a healthy and
superior population. BakWira OR is able to remove or digest many types
of pungent and putrid malodorous substances.
BakWira OR will also help to accelerate the digestion
of fats, oil and grease by creating intermediates such as fatty acids and
glycerol which are converted far more easily by the existing bacteria.
Sludge settleability and reduction can also be improved.
BakWira OR contains facultative anaerobes which degrade
with or without oxygen. They are live micro-organism which must be seeded
on a regular basis to maintain a high population of organisms and to prevent
total kill when an upset in the treatment occurs.
