PAC POWDER
DESCRIPTION
PAC POWDER is a polymeric compound of chlorinated aluminium hydrate, generally known as polyaluminium chloride (PAC). When utilizing PAC POWDER, considerable technical and economic benefits can be achieved, based the chain length of polymer, high number of positive electric charges and high molecular weight; as compared with conventional flocculants such as aluminium sulphate, ferric chloride or ferric sulphate.
GENERAL SPECIFICATION
Appearance Yellowish powder
TREATMENT AND DOSAGE
PAC POWDER can be dissolved in water with A12O3 content up to 18%.
The amount of water needed to prepare a solution of chosen concentration, with 1kg of PAC POWDER, can be calculated (approximately) as follows :-
31
---- - 1 = kgs of water
__
p%
Where p is solution concentration.
HANDLING
The product has a low order of toxicity but may be irritating to skin or eyes to its acidic nature. Splashes should be washed immediately with plenty of fresh water. It should not be stored under direct sunlight or at temperature higher than 60° C.
