Recovery of rubber from latex washings (P-Floc77)
A substantial amount of effluent from latex concentrate
factories comprises washings of centrifuge bowls and latex containers.
The presence of rubber in washings accounts for more than 90% of its organic
load.
The conventional methods used for rubber recovery from
washings such as either by autocoagulation or by acidifying the washings
with acid or serum. However these methods not only yield low recovery of
rubber but also give rise to odour problem.
A rapid and effective method of rubber recovery can be
achieved by flocculation with certain cationic polymers.
P-Floc77 is such a product that
has been widely & effectively used for rubber recovery from latex washings.
